My first attempt at a 2010 Christmas Card

Stampin UP! has a new holiday mini catalog coming out with some beautiful new stamps sets just in time for the holiday season! There are cute Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas sets along with some new designer fabric that I can't wait to get my hands on! Anyway, we have a card swap coming up on Monday night and I thought I would try out a few variations of cards using a new Sizzix Big Shot embossing folder exclusive to Stampin UP! called Norther Flurry. It embosses the paper so nicely and works well as a background or even the focus of the card as I chose to do here.

August Stamp and Scrap night

Last night was our monthly get together to do some scrapbooking and maybe make a card or two.

Our themes for the night were "Back to School" and "Birthday". I was in charge of "Birthday" which was perfect for me as we just celebrated Ava's 4th birthday! I really love the way all the pages turned and can't wait to use mine for Ava's album dedicated to her 4th year.

I chose the colors Stampin UP! recommends for birthdays in their new catalog and they are so perfect! They are bright and cheerful and would fit a boy or girl on their big day.

PK Challenge

At CHA we spent a lot of time browsing at the Peachy Keen Stamps booth. I was hesitant to buy any of their stamps as I am such a loyal Stampin UP gal, however I had seen one set that I thought was too adorable to pass up. This week they are having a challenge over on their blog so I thought this the perfect opportunity to get this set out and put it to good use! Of course I used all Stampin UP! ink and paper to go along with it!:-)

Friends of ours really help us out when we have a party at our house by lending us their tent and some tables and chairs. I wanted to make them an extra special card to say thanks! Here it is, hope you enjoy.

August Calendar

Hi all! I have been having so much fun in my craft room these last few days after CHA. I love how something like that can get you so inspired! Any who, here is a photo of the calendar page I made for August. It's really hard to see the colors on it as my camera was not cooperating that day but they are basically light green and pink, it kind of reminds of spring colors but I just thought they were so beautiful together I had to use them. I love this stamp set and love layering the flower to give it a "petal effect". Again, kind of hard to see on the photo.

Saturday I was excited to attend CHA with my good friend Nancy. We were like two kids in a candy store visiting all the booths and meeting different people. We met a few people who's blogs I follow regularly. One of which was Robyn from Mypinkstamper. She was so sweet and I took a photo with her at the Custom Crops booth. More photos to come!

Bit of Magic card

I love this fairy stamp set that came out of the summer mini catalog, it's called "A Little Bit of Magic". I just think the two fairies in it are so sweet and very whimsical. I haven't had the chance to make too many cards with it but I wanted to make a card for someone I was honored to meet at CHA this past weekend as a thank you for all that person does and all that I've learned from her. Hopefully she doesn't read this post! Anyway, I got out my Stampin UP! blender pen and prepared to color. Sometimes coloring is so fun and I read once that it's similar to meditating as you are so focused on one thing. I know it's very relaxing for me. I also used my Big Shot and the Punched Posies set which is a hostess set in the summer mini that will be gone soon, as the products in the mini are only available through the end of August.
