Cocktails & Dreams Blog hop

Hi all!  Welcome to the Cocktails & Dreams blog hop!   I hope everyone is having a great summer!  I spent the last week at my Mom's lake house in northwest Indiana.  It was sooooo nice!  My 3 nieces and two kids spent practically all of their days in the water.  It was hard to get them out!  I love all the great memories they are making at the lake...
Anyway, today we head back home to enjoy the last few weeks of our summer vacation.  If you are hopping along with us then you just came from the very talented Lisa at Lisa Garrow, if not, and you want to start at the beginning, go ahead back to Gill's blog over at Creations by Gill M.
Once I heard Gill was hosting this hop I knew I wanted to take part in it. What a fun title, huh?  It conjured up images of the movie Cocktail, which then led me to thinking about beaches, which then led me to thinking of Jimmy Buffet.  Funny how that works, huh?  Anyway, my project is of a scrapbook page I did last year when my husband and I went with some friends to the Jimmy Buffet concert.  This was only my second Jimmy Buffet concert and it was a blast!
I stamped the title and used the retired Stampin UP! Tropical Party for the green palm like leaves, the flowers, the drink, and the little tree.  The patterned paper is also a retired set from Stampin UP!  The background paper is Stampin UP! Tempting Turquoise along with the ribbon.

Here are the two pages together.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Your next stop is the very crafty Jenn over at Cardstock and Coffee.

Tropical Dreams

Good morning all! This morning I woke up a little early so I thought I would try to accomplish a project for the latest Music Mondays challenge. The theme this time is "Hotel California" and I knew exactly which stamp set to use for this one. I have the Stampin UP! set Tropical Party and thought it would be perfect. Since everyone around me, including myself, is sick of this winter weather we are having here in Chicagoland I thought palm trees and tropical drinks would be the perfect way to forget about the weather for a little while! Every time I think of California I think of beautiful San Diego where my Uncle lives and highway 1 along the coast. I love California and my husband and I always talk about how we should have moved there when we had the opportunity many years ago...sigh.
I also used the same sketch from the MOJO Monday challenge for my card.

I was thinking of giving this card to my husband as a reminder of the vacation we NEED to go on:-). Think he will get the hint?
