CWC Challenge #98 Back to School

HI everyone!  Well we are on vacation this week to the great state of Michigan (where I'm originally from) in the Upper Peninsula.  I'm from Southwest Michigan and I haven't been up here since I was 4.  I have been looking forward to this trip for forever.  We are with lots of family and having a blast!

Anyway, onto my project this week.  The challenge over at Cooking with Cricut is to create anything school related.  I usually create my August or my September calendar page school themed depending on when the kids go back.  This year St. Isidore starts Aug 22nd so the August page it is!  I am really looking forward to this school year and the kids are super excited!  My oldest will be in 1st grade and going all day and my youngest will be in 4 day preschool in the afternoon.  It is going to be so strange having them both gone in the afternoon but I know they will be learning so much!

Here is my project.  I used many, many cartridges for this one.  I first printed out some paper on my Imagine. I knew I absolutely wanted to use a lined paper of some sort to go with the school theme so I printed that out from the Imagine More Cards cartridge. I then printed out an ABC paper from Imagine Hopscotch and then some striped paper to make my banner. I used the Imagine Enjoy the Seasons for the apples, Mickey Font for the word "August", and Create a Critter for the cute little worm.

CWC Challenge #84, Teacher Appreciation Day

Hi all!  Today the challenge over at CWC is Teacher Appreciation Day.  My daughter has just entered kindergarten this year and has the most AMAZING teacher!  I feel like I really need to do something special for her sweet teacher.  This project is something I have been thinking about for a while.  I bought the base of this little wooden box last year at the Scrapbook Expo and knew then I wanted to use it for a teacher.  I just finally got around to putting it together thanks to this challenge!

I used some old apple paper I had to cover the little box, I just traced where it needed to be and sanded off the edges. I used red for the sides and the bottom.

 The apple and worm are both from Create a Critter, along with the book. I used a Stampin UP letter set (Just Perfect Alphabet) for the teachers name and some Peachy Keen stamps for the face (Boy Mates).

 Here is a side view of the box. I put the apple paper inside as well.

 I then made this cute little card for her by welding two of the apple shapes together on my gypsy. The Thank you stamp is a CTMH stamp from the 4 My Friend set.  I also made 10 more of these cards to stick inside the box so she could have them to use for herself.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #79, Make Me Laugh

It's time for another challenge over at CWC!  This time the challenge is April Fool's Day, use a funny quote, saying, poem, or pun.  While trying to think of something fun to do for this challenge all I could think of were my cute little stamps from My Pink Stamper called Punny-licious.  They go so perfect with the critters from the Create a Critter cartridge so I pulled out my cartridge, picked a few, and began designing with my gypsy.  I love these cute little critters!  They are perfect for throwing together cards, especially cards for kids as they love them!

I decided to make a few of these while I was making them so that I could have them on hand.  My daughter seems to be invited to an endless stream of birthday parties in her kindergarten class and I am always needing cards.  This weekend alone she has 3 parties!  Anyway, here is what I came up with for one of the versions of the cards which goes perfectly with this challenge:

Like I said, I used Create a Critter for my cow and the little bubble above the cloud.  The stamp is from My Pink Stamper Punny-licious and the Twine is from the Twinery.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #77 St. Patty's Day or Rainbow Theme

Happy Spring everyone!  Welcome to my first post with Cooking with Cricut!  It's going to be almost 80 here in Chicagoland which is unheard of around here for March.  We have signs of spring already everywhere.  I'm planning to take the kids to do something fun today so we don't miss any of this beautiful day!
Anyway, onto my challenge post.  The challenge this week is to do something St. Patrick's Day related or rainbow related.   Here is my project:

I chose to do a layout that is centered on this rainbow from Create a Critter.  I used a star embossing folder to get the stars on the heart.

 My title was printed from Gypsy Font and Birthday Bash.  The banner is from Birthday Bash as well with black twine from the Twinery.

 Here is the first page.  The shape to the right of the photo frame is from Storybook and the cloud paper is from the Imagine Hopscotch cartridge.

 Here's the second page, the pot is from Paper Doll Dress Up.

 Here is the layout together.  I love the bright colors and the cloud background.

Peachy Keen Guest Designer Day 5

Hi all!  Welcome to Day 5 of my posts as guest designer.  I am so sad that my week is over already!  It's been so fun and even though I am sad to leave I am excited to see what our next guest designer has coming.  All week I have been wanting to do a scrapbook page using some photos I took last year of my family and I apple picking.  I had a great photo of my son in the orchard and I couldn't wait to use it:-).  He is about a year and a half here and he loved getting the apples and eating them.  It was so darn cute!

 For these cute little apple faces from the Create a Critter cartridge I used the Boy Mates faces.

I based my page on the latest sketch challenge from DCWV.  I love using sketches for my inspiration and this one worked perfect for my page!

Lil Pumpkin layout

Happy Thursday everyone!  I have been doing some scrapbooking this week and thought I would share this layout from some photos I had of a time we went to the pumpkin farm a few years ago.  I couldn't get a really good photo of it so I apologize for how dark it is.  I took the sketch from Page Maps and I really like how it came out.   Lately I have been scrapbooking old photos and doing current ones digitally, I think I am going to change it up and start scrapbooking my new ones so I can be up with the seasons:-).
